Things To Do That Cost Less Than Cable

Ok so let me start by saying I don’t actually know how much TV cost. I think last I heard it was around $150 a month? So for the sake of this blog I will base it off that.

Take some pictures

Lets start off simple. Go for a photography walk. We all own a great camera and use it every day. The average 13 year old is better at taking pictures than some of the professionals. So why not make an adventure out of it? Grab your kids, tell them you want to get some outdoors fall pictures to post on social and go for a walk. I don’t care where you live there is some cool hiking places near by. Even if you drive past them every day you will be amazed at how enjoyable it can be to really see the sights. There is something about the intentionality of taking pictures and admiring the landscapes that will bring you into the moment.

Cook a meal outdoors

I’m not talking about the BBQ in your back yard. You want to pack up and go to a new place. It is a lot easier than it sounds. Prep the meal in your kitchen, throw it in an ice chest with the cooking and eating utensils you need and head out. Just about every park, lake, campground, etc has grills set up for you to use. This is even great to combine with thing 1!

Rent a kayak for the day

Kayaking and paddle boarding have exploded in popularity over the last few years. There is a good reason for this. It’s fun. Because it is so popular rental prices and availability are great. You can find a nice kayak for well under $100 for the day. Oh and guess what, it goes great with thing 1 and thing 2! you can do all 3 and still be under $150 for the day. To me that is real value.
